Quad conservation

A major project began in 2010 to conserve our heritage, namely the 19th century quadrangle buildings where some external features were in need of works to conserve their beauty and function. This will ensure that the building's future and our heritage is assured for many generations to come. In addition upgrading the single glazed windows to incorporate double glazing will help the University reduce the carbon emissions associated with heating the building while improving comfort levels for those who work in the building.

Two previous phases have been undertaken encompassing parts of Whitworth Hall and Christie Building.

This major investment (£11.3m) is due to be completed in 2015.
